Multiplication is a short cut to repeated adding. Rather than doing 2+2+2=6 you do 3  x 2=6. It the same thing but you just use less paper. When you get to multiplication word problems look for these key multiply words product,times,rows of, all together. The product is the answer to a multiplication problem. The numbers you multiply are called factors. When you multiply two digit times one digit you multiply down then you multiply across or you can expand it.
